BlackRock Discusses Spot Bitcoin ETF with SEC Officials

BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has met with representatives from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to discuss the possibility of launching a spot Bitcoin ETF. An ETF (exchange-traded fund) is an investment fund that tracks the price of an underlying asset, such as a stock, bond, or commodity. A spot ETF would track the price of Bitcoin itself, rather than futures contracts based on Bitcoin.

US Officials Announce $4.3B Settlement with Binance, Plea Deal with CZ

US officials have announced a $4.3 billion settlement with Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges. The settlement resolves a number of allegations against Binance, including that it failed to register with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) as a money services business (MSB) and that it facilitated money laundering. In addition to the settlement, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of failing to register with FinCEN.

Governor Gavin Newsom Signs Cryptocurrency Bill into Law

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a bill into law that will create a framework for regulating cryptocurrency businesses in the state. The bill, known as the Digital Asset Framework Act, will establish a licensing and enforcement regime for cryptocurrency companies operating in California. It will also create a research center at the University of California, Berkeley, to study the impact of cryptocurrency on the state’s economy.

Cryptocurrency Farm Discovered Hidden Under Polish Court

A cryptocurrency mining farm has been discovered hidden under a court building in Poland. The farm was reportedly using stolen electricity to mine Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Two people have been arrested in connection with the operation.

What a ride it’s been in the market! 🎢 Just like a thrilling rollercoaster, we’ve seen some exciting highs and unexpected turns. The big question on everyone’s mind: will this continue?

🎢 The Rollercoaster Continues!
A lot hinges on the much-anticipated Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs. If these ETFs remain a distant dream, brace yourselves – altcoins might pump even harder as the market hunts for the next big hit. Last week we saw a +4.38% gain of Bitcoin and a +9.09% gain of Ethereum 🔥People are full of hopeium currently.

On the flip side, if hopes are dashed, we could witness some steep reversals. My take? I’m keeping the faith and sticking to my DCA strategy. Let’s ride this wave together!

⏳ The 8-Day Countdown to ETF Decisions
Folks, mark your calendars! The SEC’s 8-day deadline to decide on all 12 spot Bitcoin ETFs is closing in, with D-Day being this Friday. The odds might be slim, but the anticipation is palpable. Keep an eye out for any news – it could trigger some serious market volatility. This could be a game-changer, so stay tuned!

⏰ Inflation Watch – October’s CPI Reveal
Next week, we’re getting a peek at October’s Consumer Price Index (CPI). Expectations are for a modest increase in consumer prices, projected to have risen 3.3% year-over-year. This is a bit of a cooldown from September’s 3.7% annual hike. Think of it as our financial weather report, forecasting whether we’re heading for sunny days or stormy markets. Here’s a simple breakdown of what’s coming:

👔 Job Numbers on Thursday

This Thursday, watch for the latest US job numbers. They’re likely to stay low, suggesting many people are still employed. Usually, this is a positive indicator, showing the job market is doing well. However, in times of high inflation, the Federal Reserve may see persistent low unemployment as a signal that the economy is still too hot, which is not the goal of the FED until now.

🗣️ Speech from Fed Chair Powell

Also on Thursday, Jerome Powell from the US Federal Reserve will talk about future plans for interest rates. He’s probably going to say they want to keep prices from going up too much, even if that slows down how much money people spend. You know, the same thing as always.

📉 Company Earnings Reports

Some big companies will tell us how much money they made recently. We’re looking to see if higher costs and other problems are making it harder for them to earn money. This can also show us how higher interest rates are affecting them.

The leader of two cryptocurrency and binary options fraud schemes has been extradited to the United States. The defendant is accused of defrauding investors out of more than $70 million. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Swiss Bank Launches Bitcoin and Ether Trading with SEBA

Swiss bank St.Galler Kantonalbank (SGKB) has partnered with SEBA Crypto to launch Bitcoin and Ether trading services for its clients. The partnership will allow SGKB’s clients to buy, sell, and hold Bitcoin and Ether through SGKB’s online banking platform.

💡 A Mindset Shift

Recent data is revealing an intriguing pattern. Smart money has reached an All-Time High (ATH) in holding positions, while, paradoxically, dumb money holdings have plunged to an All-Time Low (ATL). This could be a precursor to a dynamic shift in market momentum over the coming months. A vital cue for those strategizing their next move.

🏦 FOMC Conference

Come November 1st, 2023, all eyes will be fixed on the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) conference. Though the consensus is that the federal funds rate will be maintained between 5.25%-5.50%, the real intrigue lies in the hints about future rate movements. The devil, as they say, is in the details, and every word will be scrutinized for potential market impact.

🌍 Central Bank Updates

🇯🇵 Bank of Japan’s Outlook: Scheduled for Tuesday, November 1st. Experts widely anticipate the BOJ to persist with its ultra-loose monetary policy. The central bank aims to invigorate inflation and economic growth, having kept short-term rates at -0.1% and the 10-year government bond yield close to zero.
🇬🇧 Bank of England’s Decision: Coming up on Thursday, November 2nd. As inflation touches a staggering 40-year peak, the BoE is likely to implement its eighth consecutive rate hike, pushing the interest rate to 3%.
