Metamask Reaches One Million Users

The ethereum browser wallet Metamask has surpassed one million users of its Google Chrome extension. Four years after launch this milestone comes as ethereum transactions see a spike, doubling in less than a month from 400,000 to now 800,000 transactions a day, the highest of any top blockchain. Gas usage has also spiked to its highest level since September, while fees remain very low at less than five cent for a fast transaction of under two minutes.

Metamask Returns to Google After 1 Week Ban

Last week Google decided to ban the Android client of the Ethereum crypto-wallet and dApp platform, MetaMask, from its Play Store. Yesterday, MetaMask made a comeback and declared that Google has allowed the MetaMask Mobile App back on Google Play, allegedly after careful consideration.
Google is apparently also in the process of suppressing crypto sites in Google News, which also harms the crypto industry by making certain information less accessible to the community. It seems that the big technology companies are turning against the crypto and blockchain industry.

Google suspends MetaMask from Play Store

After the temporary bans of Youtube videos and channels (YouTube has already lifted the crypto video ban), Google has now suspended MetaMask’s Android client from its App Store. This was announced by MetaMask according to its own information via its Twitter account. MetaMask’s Android client was apparently suspended “last week”, with Google citing its policy of banning mobile mining apps from its App Store.

MetaMask, an Ethereum browser extension, does not offer any mining activities. MetaMask has an estimated quarter of a million active users per month. Whether MetaMask will be available again in the next few days is not yet clear.
